Process
Our Slitting line is equipped with the latest, world class technology and is capable of delivering consistent and reliable output even for steel thickness ranging from 0.15mm to 1 mm with minimum slit width of 16 mm.
Process is divided into three sections:
1) Initial Inspection:
Upon receipt of material from a customer, prior to unloading, all relevant documents get verified and then material is unloaded and weighed at a 50 Ton Weigh Bridge. Simultaneously, visual inspection is carried out for any physical damage.
2) In-process Inspection:
Once slitting line tool set up is ready for desired material, width and thickness of respective material are inspected prior to slitting operation for coil width, thickness and hardness (optional). Once the slitting process begins, slit strips are inspected as per quality plan for edge burr, slit width, tolerance, bow, camber and dents, etc. These readings are then fed to our sophisticated SPC software to manage process efficiently.
3) Final and packaging Inspection:
Once slitting operation is complete, slit coils are identified with bar code labels. At the same time, we calculate yield received from master coil. Then, individual slit coil is moved to packing area.
As per the customer’s requirement, coils are checked for any physical damage, prior to packing and loading. Slit coil pallets are then loaded on to the shipping trucks. At the same time, outgoing documents are verified and validated.
